VIN checker for CB400N ?

Hi,

I've just bought a HONDA CB400N 1982 with the following VIN cb400n-3301146. Unfortunatelly none of the VIN checkers (cmsnl, etc.) finds this bike. Any ideas where I could check it out? I need the nice technical drawings of all parts (as seen in the cmsnl site for example).

Interesting, looking at cmsnl there are no 1982 CB400N models. This may be a 1981, production dates start in September of the previous year and end in August, a 9/81 production date is a 1982, a 8/81 is the last of the 1981's

Yep, same research from my side. I don't believe there is any difference from the 81 model, but still I don't understand why this VIN can't be identified anywhere.

Should check also with the official honda dealer.

In the US the Service Dept's of Honda dealers have a book that lists every model, VIN numbers and major changes to each model by year. Maybe the other countries have the same type of book
