As of 5 minutes ago. Full mock-up and everything fits nicely. It looks crooked in the pic but it's just the angle. She's bang on

Hopefully tear it down again tomorrow to start painting it. I want it black. Might have to remove the upper triple and do it as well while I'm at it :D

Didn't really care at first but once I get this little dash done that triple is going to look pretty bad next to the nice new shiny stuff.

Use an angle grinder and work the surface into a pattern then clear coat it.
Looks great

Thanks guys! :D

Slightly better light this morning. Was taking the kids to school and just took a couple of quick shots.

Tank turned out nice enough (not perfect but........). I'm VERY happy with how the darker colours tie in nicely though.

Now that the gauges aren't sticking way up in the air, the bike looks nicely balanced in the front end IMO. I know this bike isn't for everyone but I'm digging it.

Once I get ALL the jobs done that I had set out to do, I'll take some nicer pics.

Cheers and thanks for the kind words and advice as well. Always welcome!

Now to get this thing running and go for a shakedown ride.........after I start dinner..........pick up the new furniture we bought and do a bit if laundry.

Busy day but I'm determined to make it happen.

I am the KING of multitasking

That's it. Winter work done.

New rear brakes.
New Chain
New Sprockets
Tank painted
New CNC machined cap and latch (Joker Machine)
New mini speedometer installed
New dash fabbed up and installed (that took me some time)
New LED indicators for said dash (neutral/marker)
New shorter speedometer cable
New shorter front brake cable
New throttle cable
Spacers installed for new shocks (machined by a buddy - never got around to installing them until now)
New front brake light switch
New horn
New NGK resistor caps
New fuel lines

Done for now.

Though the look may not be for every one that does not matter. I prefer the cafe look myself, some prefer the bobber or the chopper. What matters is what you like. You have done a great job of making the bike uniquely yours.

I also just happen to think it is a nice look, and would make room in my garage if it was offered to me.

What winter?
I see no snow on the ground
 Snow? Maybe not in the pics I've posted. ;) There is now............ It's been an interesting winter.

I know it's not Honda Twin related but, here's the type of riding I've been doing lately.

This is the frozen shore of Lake Huron (about 20 seconds out my front door). I've been riding it a lot on the fat bike. It's freaking GREAT. Solitude..........fantastic.

-28C the other day.

I am a bit of a purist and I spend a lot of time keeping my bikes original. I loved your bike before you altered it and usually when I see a thread with a bike being altered I usually just close the page But DAMN IT I like what you have done. Nothing I would do to mine because it isn't my style but yours looks great.
Just noticed this post, and thanks! :) I can respect that. My dad is a purist with many of his classic cars so I know/understand your thinking. Although my dad built many a hot rod back in the day, there are some that make him ill when he sees cut up. He respects the work that goes into them but just feels there are some cars that should never be altered.

In saying all that, to perhaps help you fell better  I can tell you that any and ALL cutting that was done on my bike was on spare parts. ALL the original parts were removed and are stored away nicely. For example, the original fenders, lights, gauges, bars, fork internals etc. etc. are all here.......the fenders that were bobbed, sanded, cut, drilled etc. were spares I picked up from a salvage yard. I could spend about two days and have this bike completely back to original............aside from color and painted wheels of course. I have not altered the frame in any way.

I hope that makes you feel a bit better ;)

For the road, because all this talk of mods and my dad got me thinking: here's an old pick from 1978. It's a 1931 Ford my dad was building up at the time. Rolling frame at this point and he had fired it up a few times. I believe this one was a 350. Can't remember. All I remember was that the car could smoke tires in every gear at any speed when it was done. It was nuts........

That was my dad though.

Me on the far right. My sister and two dudes I still hang with to this day whenever we all get time. Good old days.

P.S. Ever hear a 350 running with only headers?????

Great job mate!
Bike looks choise! I love how you didnt change the original seat, it refreshing to see!
Keep it up

Just looked through your thread and showed my son the latest picture. Your 350 is very close to the changes I am making to my 500. I like the way yours has turned out and am seriously thinking of taking the front fender down to the support like you have. I will not be doing paint or clips until later, but once again looking at your bike can see what it will look like.

And yes, I do know what a 350 with header only sounds like. Heard it many times as I started the 68 Chevelle several times over 4 years without the pipes bolted on. No way was I sneaking into the driveway at night with that car. Thanks again for your pictures and build thread.

Just found and read every word of this thread. You have done a fantastic job and should be proud! Question for ya...How you liking the clip-ons with the stock foot pegs? I put low bars on mine but hated the riding position without rear sets, so I switched to a straight bar with a slight pullback. I want to keep the 2up option on mine, so I can't opt for the rear sets. Again, great job!
