I haven't posted on here much, but I thought I'd share my experience with Spraymax 2K clearcoat (spray can). I used it on a Z50 hardtail project I've been working on and it's no joke. Nice spray pattern, and it seems to stay consistent all the way to the very end of the can. I have a decent HVLP gun but I didn't feel like dropping $75+ on clear just for a minibike, since that seems to be the minimum cost once you buy hardener, reducer, etc. I also didn't want to deal with cleaning the gun, I'll admit it. Anyway, it turned out really well. I used dupli-color metalspecs blue as a base, then some airbrushing using silver metallic decanted from a spraycan. I very lightly went over airbrushed sections with white scotchbrite to knock the edges down, wiped with grease&wax remover and went at it with the clear. One can was enough for two coats on the frame, tank, fork uppers, headlight bucket, fiberglass tailsection, and an open-face helmet. It was dry to the touch within about two hours and really looks good. I'm not an expert painter by any means, but I just laid it on wet enough to flow out nicely and get good gloss, had no problems with runs or anything else. There are some dust specs if you look closely, but I don't have a booth, just my regular workshop. You definitely want to wear a good respirator with this stuff though! Since it's catalyzed, it is suppesed to be pretty fuel-resistant. I might wait a week or so then splash some gas on my test panel to see how it holds up. Anyway, if you have a small project and you're looking for an economical but high-quality clearcoat without all the usual equipment required, this stuff is the way to go. It's not cheap (I think it was about $18 a can plus shipping) but definitely worth the cash. I might buy a couple more cans before someone from the gov't finds out how good it is and bans it. I got it here:

I'll try to post some pics once I have the bike together, event though it's not a twin!
It's not often that a product really exceeds my expectations the way this stuff did. I have no affiliation with the vendor or the manufacturer, I'm just really impressed.
