Howdy, just picked up an old CL200 and finally getting around to getting it in riding shape. First order of business was putting in some new tires, I opted for some dual-sport tires since I really like how they look on these old scramblers and I like the idea of taking it off-road on occasion. Shinko 244s had pretty decent reviews, came in the right size, and totally did not break the bank, plus I saw another user on here pop these on their CL200 with good results.

Now my only issue is the front fender, these give maybe 1/8-1/4" clearance on the front fender. Is this acceptable? I've read differing opinions, some folks say centrifugal forces at road speeds make the tire expand, and proper clearance is needed, others say they're have no issues with minimal clearance on their bikes. I'd personally feel a little more comfortable with some added clearance, does anyone have any tricks to giving me a little more clearance without getting a new fender? I'm currently considering drilling/slotting the mounting screws on the fender a few millimeters for some added clearance, any advice would be appreciated.
