Installing fork boots - what's the trick?

I'm re-assembling my forks, and stuck at this point. What's the trick to getting the bottom of the fork boot over the fork lower? I've used a heat gun to soften it up, but still not even coming close to getting it on there.

I was able to hook some fork boots on in the past by jacking up the front of the engine & then loosen up the fork assemblies on the top and lower triple clamps while sliding the forks up through the triples and letting the jack down to lower the bike while sliding the forks up;that way you won't have to stretch the boots too far.Give it a try,it works.
I believe the fork boots will need quite a bit of stretching to slide them over the fork lower/slider;it's a challenge but do-able. ;)

Thanks guys. I was able to get them on. I shoulda taken pictures, but the way I got them on was I cut strips from a milk jug and slipped them under the bots but over the fork legs, then was able to slide them on and pull out the strips. A heat gun helped also.

I was reluctant to use any kind of lube, whenever I try that method I wind up with everything slippery and can't manipulate anything.
