Fitting Non-Honda Tanks

I've searched around and haven't found much on the subject. Wondered if anyone here has insight on fitting older non-Honda tanks on a CB?
I bought a real nice Kawasaki A7 Avenger tank on Ebay that has the look I want, but I'm either going to have to widen the tunnel to clear the top motor mount, or cut at least 1.5" off the bottom and re-weld bungs and outlets to it. I didn't realize how wide the bottom of a CB tank was!
My stock tank is full of dents and varnish and the Kaw tank has the cafe look I'm looking for.

Any others dealt with this?

Scottrod....
You MAY be able to "gently" hammer dent the inside/underside of the Kawi tank for clearance..... I had to do it to put an early CL 175 tank (from a tubular "sloper" frame) on a later CL 175 (Pressed/stamped metal frame)
Another possibility is to alter the frame itself (heat and hammering) or otherwise re-do(narrow/shorten/change) the mounts .....

Stock tank vs "early" on same frame......(after "denting")
