Oil mist yes, but no smoke from mine, any of them. i route the vent pipe to the chain area but we have had that discussion before.
Oil weepage from the cam cover using a new sealing ring, maybe it was dislodged during fitting, easy to do but also easy to check for when you finally check that all is ok by slightly lifting the cover when its in place, just prior to fitting the 2 bolts etc.. If your fighting to fit the cam cover your doing it wrong. I glue the cam cover seal to the cam cover.
How are the chrome dished washers and rubber bungs??
also the bottom cylinder gasket end surface has a small weep.i suspect it was from long ago. long story short. the head studs were rusted frozen. the bike has a new top end. but the bottom end mating surface inst 100% after the months long fight to remove the top end.
But its still weeping oil, from the rear outer cyl head bolt area, or from the central tunnel ?
As you know the rear outer head bolt area has the cam oil feed tunnel. The green oe gasket has a heat activated adhesive.
Weepage from central tunnel could be from inner bolt area of rocker carriers not having the copper washer, not having a mere amount of sealant, just enough to stop oil leakage at that surface ( surfaces between rocker carrier casting and head contact area ) , from the head bolt built on seal and their holes, or even between the cylinder liners and cylinder block, no large diameter o ring fitted or leaking.
Find the oil leaks.
its burning on the filter itself due to the filter getting too hot.
how hot is this engine getting? oil boiling inside the engine?? then yes expect "smoke" !! and a flashing oil light at idle when hot.
