after reading through the forums I've come to realize the exhaust pipes on my cb400t are not the stock pipes.
It has a 2-2 system currently, very similar to what is pictured here:
MAC 2-2 exhaust system
although I would like to, I cant afford to replace the system at the moment, so a quick fix is needed
after removing the exhaust to replace a couple broken exhaust studs, I ran into issues fitting the exhaust back on properly/tightly
best way I can explain is that where the pipes meet the header, there is a lot of free play. even with the flanges tightened all the way down. the pipe moves back and forth in the port...it will not sit flush against the gasket, and when running blue flames shot out
obviously not a good thing so she will remain parked til I solve this (hopefully soon)
I looked up some images of the stock system and noticed that there is a lip around the pipes near the head:
since my current pipes dont have this lip, is this creating the issue?
my other thought is to replace the part circled here:
no clue what the name of this part is but with how the pipes were setup these went between the flange and pipe. they are pretty well rusted..
regardless, any help will be much appreciated.
