My Clymer manual has the yellow wire going from alt, reg, rect, all the way up to the "head light dimmer switch". There isn't, however, a yellow wire coming from my switch. The only unidentified wire coming from my head light dimmer switch is blue with a yellow stripe. Do I need a 4th connection for the yellow wire, and what is the blue/yellow wire?

Thanks much

Clymer has mistakes. Get a copy of the Honda Factory Service manual...What model do you have? Assuming 350, but not 100% sure...what year is 350?

The yellow wire to the switch generally is connected to the white wire from the alternator. When light switch is on, it connects the yellow to the white for full alternator output.

It is possible you do not have stock wiring...the PO may of eliminated wires, miswired it, or some other thing.

Here's the schematic for a K4 CB350...most are the same...

There is no Blue with yellow from Honda...yours may be rewired.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have a 350, frame is CL and '71, engine is SL '70, but it lots and lots of other year and model parts (blinkers, brake light, etc. are cheap e-bay stuff).

Am building a harness myself. I have most of it done (I think), just a few more things and I get to see if it works. I think the PO bough an different (still old) switch for it.

Good to know about the yellow to white thing. I think I remember there being an unidentified white wire on my old harness.

I'll start looking at the Honda schematic, thanks for the photo!
