1970 CB450 Pre-color apparently, See kids, things in the 70's did always look orange and brown just like your grandparents pictures!

I'm having some charging issues, or, lack there of....
Confused as to what is supposed to be what here. Can we tell by the routing through the plug that goes between the cover and block, i.e., top, middle, and bottom? Does anyone have a '70 model that can confirm these colors? wshoplght.jpg cameraflash.jpg

Unplug the alternator from the main harness....
Set meter to AC volts in the lowest range that can handle 50VAC.....Probably the 200 range.... Label the wires #1, #2, #3
Read AC output between all three possible pairs of wires with engine idling.....(#1-#2), (#1-#3), and (#2-#3) and write down results......
LOWEST output will be between White and Yellow, (regardless of the color they now appear to be)...
Connect them together and to an AC terminal of the rectifier,(usually the Yellow wire one)...
The wire that is COMMON to both higher readings is the Pink wire...Connect it to the other AC terminal of the rectifier, (Usually the Pink one).....
Rectifier Green goes to ground and/or battery negative....
Rectifier Red (or Red with White stripe) goes to battery positive.......

Okay, unplugged the alternator from the harness. I numbered the three wires coming out of the alternator 1,2 and 3. The green colored wire got named the #2 wire and the other two are #1 and #3.
#1 & #2 =~ 18.5v
#1 & #3 =~ 20.5v
#2 & #3 = .4v

Is this a problem that #2 & #3 read only .4v? Or is that correct?
Just want to check before moving on.
Thanks!

It's normal, and fine... #1 is the Pink wire and connects to rect/reg Pink...
Connect #2 &#3 together and to rectifier/regulator Yellow
Rect Red or red with white stripe to battery positive....
Rect Green to ground and or Battery negative
Sparkmoto rect/reg also has a black voltage sensing wire, so connect it to the black female connector that used to go to the Honda regulator (in the three wire cluster with a yellow and a green) Yellow and Green are now unused, but should be taped off....
Re-charging system complete.....
