can`t get my cb175 over 6000 rpm or about 45 mph, the cylinders start cutting out, feels like fuel starvation, any ideas?

Bike been sitting? Did this start suddenly? When was last tuned up? Running in line fuel filter(s)?

Could be a clogged gas cap vent. Try loosening the cap next time (not with a full tank of gas!) and see if it gets any better.

Timing marks are on the rotor T is Tdc, F is fire for static timing, the other two marks are for dynamic timing with a strobe. Have you set the points? Have you adjusted the valve clearance? If not just start with the standard tune up from the front of the FSM. if you don't have a Factory Service Manual, just ask there's a of bunch of people with Free Pdf versions that you can download

fixed it, had a spark plug shorting out, it finally failed and had only one cylinder, kinda of scary on the highway. it was a brand new plug, put the old one back in, hit 7000 rpm and 55 mph with more to go. btw, did the valve clearance, static timing, and checked points back when I first got it running. thanks for everyones help.
