Thinking about painting the cylinders and head on my bike. I'm in the middle of two jobs, the cb175 top end, and restoring a 67 yamaha yds5. The cylinders and heads of the yami are off, and I media blasted them nice and clean(they where nasty!) I was thinking about using some high heat aluminum colored paint to keep them looking good, but have heard this can insulate the aluminum and make the bike run hotter than normal. Anyone have any info on this? If it's a go, any recomended paint? Thanks
Larry

Do a search. This subject has recently been touched on a few times. Otherwise risk opening the old "which oil to use" can of worms. :)

I'm sure you'll be fine using engine paint. You could look into "ceramic" paints specially designed for engines/headers.. I seriously doubt it'll hold that much heat, especially when you're moving..

I googled that model of Yamaha and saw a couple that had painted engines..
