I'm curious for the correct type and weight oil to run in my CB450. Years ago I had a bad experience with a '77 CB750F2. The dealer fixed it under warranty, but vigorously complained to me about the oil I was running. I'm interested in US brands, but go ahead and comment internationally.

These older engines run hot so look for a 10W40 oil that is designed for ATV's as it is formulated to withstand higher temperatures. I use Shell Quad 4 and have had no issues at all.

My 350 has Castrol semi synth in it now until it is full broken in and then on the next oil change she gets Amsoil. She has all new seals and gaskets, so oil leaks because of full sythetic oil is not going to be an issue.
