I have a 72 CL350K4, and the original camshaft and rockers were pretty worn. I purchased a donor motor from a 69 CB350K0 and that motor came with a "fat cam" in it. The rockers and camshaft are in better condition so it want to use them. Will this cause any issues, and I will be also using CB exhaust pipes, not CL. My friend said that I will need to take the needles out of the carburetors that were on the CB and put them in the carburetors that are going on my CL. will that be necessary? Will I need to change anything else? Back sprocket? I only want to put my motor together once Before I install, I thought I would ask the experts. Thanks for your time.

You will want to use the earlier cam case and all its internals (as a unit) on top of the later cylinder head (at least the case, cam, sprocket, and rockers)
Check everything is within clearance specs when fitting the parts, particularly the camshaft to its journal blocks (Honda calls them head covers).....

and you need the correct fat cam cam chain sprocket.
the cam case can be made to work with some hand filing

cam case is nice to have or the K4 cam case with some modifications

Will I need to change the anything about the carburetors from the CB350 to the carburetors that are going on my CL350k4? The CL carbs look 100xs better. I was not sure if the fat cam required more fuel and if the needles in those carbs supplied that, or maybe it's all the same. Thanks guys for your help.

When you open up both sets of carbs to check the jet #'s and see if they have the same needle #'s that'll tell you;I've always assumed that they were the same myself.The camshaft shouldn't change that part too much;check also online to see if they have the same #'s in the parts description lists. I hope you enjoy that early high revvin' camshaft

there are different needle jets and needles between the early carbs and the later carbs...what model carbs does the CB have stamped on them?
assume the CL carbs are 722A are the CB carbs 3D or 350A?
3D and 722a carbs are interchangeable... 350A carbs are very slightly different but should work fine with the fat cam.

Thanks! I am waiting for my carb rebuild kit to show up, once I have that I will tear them down and check it out. I will let you know. I screen shot your advice, and will use it as reference.

I hope you keep the original oem Keihin brass parts,jets,etc. w/ your carb rebuild;the aftermarket brass parts aren't always correct.When I do carb. rebuilds I use oem Honda rubber packing kits and they work the best, imo.

That is good to know. This will be my first attempt at rebuilding a carburetor. The 3 different manuals have been a huge help, but they can't tell you the stuff an expert knows ��Thanks for he heads up. I will post some pics of my progress
