i tinkered with it at the end of summer and put it away in fall with the assumption is all it needs is gas and it "should" run.
added gas and she fired up

dont mind my make shift gas tank on the handle bars and lack of battery.
idled for an hour or so outside on a cold windy day.

had a little leak develop in at the shifter.. alot of play in and out on the shifter post.. from reading i guess ill make sure the c-clip is there and check the seals..

i guess ill give it a tune up and go from there.
wanna get it road ready and ride it a bit this summer before i go cafe.
i have a free 71 cl350 that ill use for some spare parts.. that was a free bike from the father in law

A low compression bike will idle all day....but not run right.... what are the compression readings (a 450 needs to be 170-185 to run OK...165 or lower is re-ring time)...They'll idle OK at 120....

Yup, mine had a blown head gasket and showed about 60 psi on the left cylinder and about 130 on the right cylinder. It first right up and idled just fine. It was even smooth to ride around the block if you didn't mind the speed of a 50cc mini bike.

i did a compression test when i first got it.. right now i cant remember what it was.. but i will take your advice when i pick my bike back up from my friends. thanks

this is my first bike.. i dont even have a cycle license yet.. im more of a tinkerer than anything, i needed and wanted something new to keep me out of trouble.

new stuff has always bored me.
