I started to adjust my valves today and discovered that the timing marks on the exhaust cam shaft and the marks on the rotor do not align. When the marks on the cam shaft are lined up the rotor has turned about 1 or 2 degrees past the LT mark. Is this normal or is this a problem? How would I go about lining everything back up? If everything's alright as is how would I time the points? On the mark or a little past the mark? Thanks for all your help and please forgive my ignorance. I'm trying to learn as I go. The bike is a K6 if that makes any difference.
