All that stuff sounds excellent. I want a twins email that would be the bomb.
Thanks for your steadfastness and ability to not only talk the talk but walk the walk.

Jason -

Did the site just change appearance in the last few hours, or have i lost it??

At any rate, I have a ton of Honda manuals in my library, in pdf format.
how do we go about making them available to members??
I can post them on my website, but only a few at a time, I don't have unlimited space.

yes, i just changed the layout. does it look okay?

as for the manuals

i can give you FTP access to upload them to.

Then you can create links to them in the manual section...

check your PMs
Jason -

I prefer the old layout better.
This new one seems squished into about half the width of the screen, and all the text is center-justified (at least on my machine).
I think it's harder to read now.

is this better? I just made it wide rather than center justified?

the center justifications look good on wide screen monitors i think? but that's just because it's what i'm used to.

i can leave it like this unless no one likes the red?
G
The red is awesome you are really on the ball. I access this with my blackberry all day at work. Very easy to use with my phone. Kudos
John
Looks great to me so far. And yes, thanks for all the work you put into this. Hopefully this one will last.

shouldn't be an issue.

Hopefully we'll have a permanent home.
Red is cool, no problem with it.
thanks for "widening" the page - much easier to read now.

You da MAN.

Looks great!

hello,

mikedialect here.

I had been trying to get a hold of Mark for months before his crash to take hold of the twins site. I had no idea that the site was 'sort of' there because I had been using phpbb1 link. I had lost all hope of the idea I had coming back to life. I designed that front end over there & did a lot of the forum creation as well. I will not speak ill of mark in his absence because he is going through something tremendous right now and he is a fine fellow. However, I have no had access to any of the files or had any response for several months. I see that the logo here is copied from the twins site I made. I don't quite know what to think. Great? but now there is a phantom and will make search engines see both. I guess it looks like this idea will live on, but I feel spited a bit that I wasn't ever asked a thing about it. Mark was hosting the site & had all the passwords. The whole thing was he was going to host and I was going to run. Well, right from the bat I had to fight to get a response. So, I'm just confused that no one ever asked if this whole thing would be ok or if I cared.

I guess it doesn't matter at this point. Good luck guys.

Mike, Please don't feel slighted.....We had no way to contact you either......E-mails went unanswered....
If you wish to participate, I'm sure Jason will share the administrative end with you as he would have with Mark....We are here simply because we don't want to be placed in the position of doing without the forum because the administrators are absent or otherwise unaware of the site status...
Disclaimer:
This is MY OWN opinion, not necessarily representative of the entire group...
but I'd bet I get seconded....
Steve
Absolutely, Steve -

We had no way to contact anyone involved with the other site, though I personally tried more than once.
We hope you'll accept the spirit in which this was done and that you'll stick around and help us build it back up.
I think you should be pleased that we all felt that there was a real need for the site, and I'm sure Jason (JeyLux) would be more than happy to turn it all over to you, if you want it.

bill
While I have (had) no idea about ownership, administratorship, hostship, etc etc, I DO like this (and the old) forums very much.

This is a great asset to the Honda vintage twin enthusiast, and I'd hate to see it go away.

I'd say that if YOU were half the team that got it going, then YOU deserve half the credit for this. Don't let the presence of this site get you down.

Essentially, then, WHAT BILL SAID!

mike,

don't feel slighted. i tried to contact you via the thread on SOHC4 in other bikes, but never got a response.

I have no issue giving you access to the forum management etc. I had considered the issue with the imagines, but considered that the logo was probably more honda's property than anyone ones so i jacked it.

I'll do whatever it is that you wish to be done. please feel free to email me.

Thanks,

Jason
Re:Mike

Honda Twins Good Luck
Bill, , WE AS A GROUP needed to have this back-up site because there was nobody available to administrate the other site with Mark injured...
E-mails sent to Mike were NOT answered.... But even had they been, Mike still has no access to perform the administrative functions, so effectively, there has been no change (except that Mike's feelings were hurt....)

I'm sorry that that has occurred, but even now, the "old" site could cease to function and nobody could get in to "fix" it......

This "new" site offers Mike the opportunity to take credit for his inspiration without being dependant on Mark, and to "run" the show (as Jason has offered to him, and I hope he decides to do)...But, if HE decides to turn his back on this group,...So be it!..... I'm staying here, and recommending that ALL the members from there join us here...... Steve

Plain and simple, I don't know if Mike will be back or not. I got in touch with him to make him aware of Mark's tragic accident. Mike is a pretty busy fellow and sometimes takes a bit to reach him. I know, from my own experience, from when I was the moderator on the original site, that when I needed assistance, I could reach Mike easier than Mark and I would find out what I needed to know, to take care of any particular situation. When the subject came up about concern for the forums and who was responsible for them, I heard Mark mentioned, but not Mike. I posted that Mike had the idea about the site and Mark offered to put it up, while Mike would work the rest. I was never asked to see if I could reach him, for you all.

I will see what I can find out, if you want me to. Just let me know. Myself, I don't think I'm that hard to reach and I wondered why I wasn't asked to se if I could reach Mike. Don't guess that makes much difference now. Just let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Later on, Bill
it would be incredibility difficult to contact people on the internet though other people continuously. I posted the question and let the group decide what needed to be done. I just offered the web real estate to make it happen. I posted questions and comments about it on more than 1 occasion and for more than a few months. I guess, i'm saying I would have never contact you to contact him for me. If was truly a project of passion his involvement on any of the active threads would have lead him to the proper information long ago. I guess, what i'm trying to say is, i didn't get the impression it was really that important to him.

Like i said previously, i will do whatever he'd liked regarding the forum. Besides removing it. I will remove the imagine likeness or what have you though if he'd like.

Keep up the good work Jason. You have really brought this site together. I'm totally with you and Steve on this whole situation. Keep up the good work.
