Two cylinder heads, both (I think) are from a '72 k5 CB450.

Head one has a valve guide caps that all metal while the other has valve guide caps that are metal with what appears to include an integrated rubber seal. The caps do not appear to be inter-changeable between heads.

Started to put one of the heads back together.... lost one of the all metal caps. I would order it from Honda, as it looks like it’s still a stock item, but the fiches aren't in sufficient enough detail to let me know what a stock cap looks like.

Here's part numbers I have: 14791-319-005 (replaces 14791-292-000) ??

The one pictured on the left is the one that I lost.

If you have the new valve seals the metal cap will not fit. The new part has the metal built into the rubber seal. I just went through this last week. You can use the newer seal without the metal cap. The older seal looked completely different.

On the left is the new part (like yours) and on the right is the old seal, retainer and clamp. I will only reuse the clamp.

If you absolutely have to have the metal ring for some reason send me your address and I'll pop one of my old ones in the mail to you but you shouldn't need it.

Thanks Mike.

Just the answer I was looking for.

I will order new cap/seals and ditch the metal only caps.

The "old" seals were essentially two-piece... the actual seal and a reinforcing/retaining ring that the "clamp" holder held in place....
The "newer" seals are combined into one piece and just need the "clamp" holder......
