I had posted here a while ago about a leaky cam shaft seal. I replaced it a few weeks back which helped the problem but did not fix it.
The PO had rebuilt the top end. I have no clue to what extent but after getting a compression reading today I think he must have bored the heads and put in new pistons.. The left cylinder is reading a bit over 180 and the right is about 170. After thinking about it I started to wonder if that may be too much pressure and is causing the new cam seal to continue to leak.

Whata you guys think? Is 180 really too high (seems like most people are happy with 150-160)? And if so, could it cause that cam seal leak even with a brand new part?

Thanks
Jeremy

I would be really pleased with those figures. Can't imagine it will affect the cam seal though. Is the breather on the head free as a build up of crankcase pressure could cause a seal to blow prematurely?
