Well I'm diving in to this forum after having been a voyeur for several months. Can anyone tell me how to put what the parts manual calls a "rib" (actually a chrome retainer ring) back on to the top of my fork gaitors (CL350 K5)? The boots are a little stiff from age, but don't seem too bad. And goldurnit I've busted a couple knuckles and bent back a fingernail trying to wrestle these suckers back into place after rebuilding the forks. So before I just cut 'em off......

thanks - sounds like a rational idea, but I guess that means I've gotta take the fork tube down to get the booties off, eh? Nothing worthwhile is ever easy...

as long as the front wheel is up off the ground the forks should be fairly easy to take off or slide down
