Hey! Anyone know a source for tapered steering head bearings for a 72 CB175? All Balls lists for the CB125 & 200, but not for the 175. Thanks!

The ones they list for the 200 are for the "twinstar' and also fit the smaller 125 stem.... Unfortunately, the 175 and 200 we have require a "bastard size" assembly.....

Take the measurements and contact AllBalls or a local bearing supplier. It couldn't be that hard and if you use a local supplier it'd be CHEAP. Plus it might benefit our little community here in the future??

Is there any more info you can supply 66Sprint.
I too unfortunately ordered bearings from Pyramid (I've read one of your previous posts re: pyramid).

I'm stuck as to what to do next...

Did you proceed and sources tapered bearings?
or did you simply replace with NOS or same size as factory original?

Any further info would help.

Cheers

Knock out the head races from the frame.... Take them and a bare stem to your local bearing supplier and explain what you want/need.... If I remember correctly, tapered bearings were available in the correct sizes, but too expensive for my wallet.... I just run the stock set-up on most bikes....... Like anything else that moves, lube and maintenance are the key.....
