Hi Guys new here. Wondered if someone could help me. I have a 1979 Honda CD185T that I have owned since 1991 but has been standing for over 20 years and I have restored it only for it to fail its MOT on a cracked swinging arm. I could only find one on Ebay or anywhere else on the Web so I bought it only to find its nothing like the one on the bike I have so my question is this. Does the swinging arm have to be specific to my bike or will other swinging arms fit because I just cant get a CD185T swinging arm anywhere.. Hope someone can help I need to get on the road ASAP.

Hi, that's a fairly good introduction and i appreciate the urgency of your issue, but generally we ask for a blurb about yourself and your bike in the New Member Introduction section.

I'm sure a swingarm from a different model would be allowed if it fit properly and was sufficiently similar in specification to your original.

Over at https://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cd185t-england_model50480/fork-rrnh-1_52100402000za/#.XIsi6R4pA0M

I see that the cd185 swingarm 52100-402-000ZA is also used on:
CD125T GENERAL EXPORT (KPH)
CD185T ENGLAND
CD195T 1980 (A) NIGERIA
CD200T 1980 (A) GENERAL EXPORT
CD200T 1981 (B) ENGLAND
CD200T 1984 (E) EGYPT

I hope this helps you find one quickly.
Cheers.
