So, I just realized that the collar or tube that slides into the swingarm bushings is MISSING! I bought the bike knowing that these bikes were known for having the bushings replaced so I didn't think it was a big deal. Now I found out the real reason. This is unavailable bikebandit...please, someone tell me I can obtain this part somewhere else. #12 in pic.

That part has been NLA for some time.....Either find a good used one, or have one fabricated.....

Nooooooooooooo! What is wrong with people who discard key items like this...or bike titles!
OK, does the same part fit multiple years so I can widen my search? Is there anybody out there who has had this thing fabricated?
Thanks in advance!

Tom, Thanks for this reply. This board has been the most helpful and respectful to newcomers compared to the other sites I visit for my other bikes. Awesome info, cheers!

So I was able to get a collar (thru help from this board). Seller says it's from a 76 CB360E. Although it's a little buggered up, I was able to smooth the minor imperfections off with 1500 grit. It looks different from the diagrams in that it doesn't have that spiral groove in each end. I suppose it's a channel for grease? Either way, should I use it? Also, could it possibly be a hair shorter than the original? I'm not so sure it will protrude enough past the new bushings I pressed in to enable the frame to clamp against it rather than the cups/bushings.

Re: swingarm collar

The 360 collar should be the same length.....IF in doubt, you could trial fit it without the swingarm, using only the "cap" washers and torque the pivot bolt....It should NOT spin.
The spiral grooves are indeed for grease.....

They do indeed fit! I drilled two holes straight through the collar for the grease to flow through ;) otherwise it has to somehow find it's way past the end, and that is not easy :D :D

Bringing up an old thread because it contains good part number info.

I'm also searching for a new swingarm center collar for my bike - my current one is quite pitted and worn. I haven't been able to find any good ones on eBay. Does anyone have one available, or know where I can find one?

I've also emailed sohc4shop.com to see if they would sell me one of their collars. They advertise that they make their own collars for their CB450 rebuilds, since the originals are no longer available. Will report back with what they say!
