I keep seeing this pop up - What is the Straw Test?

It's a test for 450 carb cleanliness.... You blow through a straw at/into the small passages in the intake venturi end (air cleaner side) and the slide should lift.... See Bills carb topic... Steve

You know I scaned through Bills post and somehow slid right past that part.

I don't own a 450 but I kept seeing that "Straw Test" and it was driving me crazy not knowing - knowledge is good.

you can do the same thing with yam 650 carbs, they have a oblong slot at the top of the intake blow into it and the slide rises, push the slide up with your finger and block the slot with your thumb slide should drop slowly, the yammies use a rubber diaphragm instead of the solid billet diaphragm slides like honda lol
