So I take the family to Six Flags of Georgia Friday night and just to entertain the nippers we all jump on a not so scary ride that invloves taking a small boat through a "haunted mansion". It was all very Fraggle Rock ish but there was one exciting bit for me when I saw a fuzzy monster perched on a CB450 with red frame and long forks with what looked like a 14" spoke wheel on the front. Shame the entry fee to the park was more than what the bike was probably worth!

These days just about any place is a strange place to see any CB.
I saw one yesterday driving through the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
Looked to be an early 70's model.

In 1970 (or so), I was riding my own K2 across Nebraska.
Stopped and talked to a fellow who had a 4-speed 450 engine running his irrigation rig.
He said the thing ran 24/7 for months at a time, and I'll have to admit it pumped a whole lotta watta..........

I wonder how he kept it cool and how long he actually had it in service...

GB
There were no provisions for cooling it that I saw.
The thing chugged along at about 2,000 rpm (just a guess) - in first gear permanently, it turned a gearbox for a humungous pump.
Frankly, it didn't look like the guy had changed anything on his farm in 50 years - not even his clothes !!
