Hello all,

I am currently building my first bike, a 1972 Honda CL350, and I have ran into a problem that I have never seen before. I got the bike running great with the kick start but am having troubles with the starter. The starter will start the bike no problem, almost instantly, but it sounds like the starter is continually trying to start the bike. When I switch off just the kill switch, the engine will die but the starter keeps trying to start the bike. When I switch off the key, it makes a kind of knocking/whirring sound. I'm not sure what the problem is and I'm hoping someone out there can help me fix it. My best guess as to what is happening right now is either bad solenoid or starter clutch. I could be completely wrong though, it is my first bike:lol:. Let me know if any of you have a clue as to what is happening.

Thanks!!

Solenoid or starter switch. Either one sticking could cause your symptoms.
