The screws on my starter clutch keep coming lose causing the weights to dislodge. This is the 3rd time. Last time I used Loctite blue. I hear a slamming noise and then the starter freewheels. I don't know if the slamming noise is causing it or if the loose starter clutch is causing the slamming. Should I just try Loctite Red?

Yeah, you could try the red stuff.
I guess you could also "stake" the screws with a punch ot chisel - might be a bitch to get off again though.

Are you sure that the plate hasn't cracked????

Okay, nothing was cracked, so I used the red Loctite. We'll see.
