I’ve tried to loosen and tight to no avail. I checked the angles and they are the same, I can get all the inners and outers in good. It’s just the last 9 outers that are above the holes. I’m at my wits end lol. The rims and nipples are from 4 into one

I did not have the sprocket on. I finally got it done but the last nine outers have a slight “bend” in them and I have to push down some of them to get in holes. Some of them line right up with no pushing on them. As a last resort I polished the old spokes to replace the ones I has to “push” in. They are noticeably thinner and they lined right up except for one. That one. I had to push down but only slightly. I still feel a little uneasy but I have triple checked everything. Thanks for your response.

The lengths of the spokes are the same and I did not have to drill out holes to get them in. The apple all fit nicely in the holes. I did end up using all 18 of the original “thinner” outer spokes and they went in without a push and did not have near the bow the news ones had. They also straighten up after a couple turns of the nipple. I believe the chrome coating on the new spokes was the issue. The original shine up but do not have as thick a coating on them . Also, all spokes had the same angles. This was just a totally different experience thank the front wheel which I laced and tried in an hour. Thanks for you feedback especially since you are certified at working on them.
