Hello!

My 81 cm400a has "cracks" around both of the "boots" (correct term?) that attach to the spark plugs. The one on the right I can lift off the spark plug with no resistance what so ever like it's just "sitting on it". The one on the left feels like it "clicks" up/down and it seated. I wrapped both in tape for now, and it's never been an issue in the few months I've owned the bike.

Is this something I should be concerned about? A buddy said to get NGK wires as an upgrade anyway? What size wires? Any links? I see there are options on bike bandit for solid or not solid... total noob and no idea what that stuff means!

Any help/guidance/advise is appreciated.

The plug wires are integral to the coil, only way to replace them is a new coil. However since they are a solid core SS wire they really don't go bad. Trim the end off the wire and screw the end cap back on. I'd suggest check the caps for resistance first, 5K ohms, to be sure they are good.
