I have a 1969 cl175 that I am in the process of restoring. What I need now is a picture of what the spark advancer position is when the engine is at top dead center. It's a long story, but I just need to make sure I have my advancer in the right starting position. Even a drawing or detailed description might work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The indexing "pin" that drives the advance unit should be at the "top" of the camshaft and centered with the cylinders' centerline at TDC.....Since the advance cam has two lobes, one should have "just" fired the points........ Since the coil fires BOTH plugs simultaneously, "upside-down" ( pin down the centerline... or center of the advancer reversed) would NOT make any difference.....
