Rust Removal with Reynolds and Braggs

This came up in another thread and figured I'd share this with anyone who doesn't already know this trick.

Obviously, it doesn't have to be Reynolds/Braggs, but you need to get yourself some aluminum foil and apple cider vinegar.

Pour some vinegar into a disposable container, ball up a small sheet of foil, dip it into the vinegar (or spray onto desired area) and then scrub with foil....Wipe clean with microfiber...Then seal with wax....done and done

Fun with oxygen! Aluminum will oxidize so easily that when applied with a mild acid like vinegar the aluminum will actually steal the oxygen atoms away from the rusty steel, and the acid will help convert the rest of the rust to liquid soluable. I would recommend neutralizing your vinegar with a rinse or two with baking soda and water before a water only rinse before waxing.

I use 5% white vinegar to de-rust my hardware before DIY zinc plating, its good stuff.
