Hello! New register here. This site kicks @$$, very informative and helpful.

My 74 CB450 began losing spark intermittently in only the right cylinder causing it to cut out. After several brief hiccups, each longer than the last, the right cyl cut out completely. I checked the spark plugs, they are good. I believe it not to be fuel delivery because during the hiccups it would backfire upon coming back to life as if to expell the unburned fuel.

In your opinion, what is the most logical order in which to troubleshoot this issue and based on the description what may be the problem?

Thank you!

Is that you, Dave??

Anyway - replace the park plugs first - they can fool you. You have to hold it with the plug threads touching a ground - many times the plug will happily arc across space to reach ground, but won't spark if you ground the threads.

Then check the right side timing - might as well do it right, read this - http://www.hondatwins.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=883

If it still ain't workin', trigger the points with a screwdriver, make sure each side sparks at the plug.
