Discussion Starter #1 (Edited)
Working on a 1978 CB400T2 and replaced fork seals recently with an All Balls aftermarket product. Thinking I put them in upside down perhaps but they had a spring on both sides so I'm not sure anymore. (Any tips on seal removal would be most welcome here). Reading through the posts I see that most people have used a driver (pipe) to seat the seal but IIRC I just finger pressed them into place and installed the snap ring in the groove. Also read that someone found there was a SECOND groove below that and installed the snap ring on the lower groove??? (Maybe that's on a different year/model). At the moment there appears to be a gap between the flange of the lower fork tube and the new seal. Is that normal? Also, how much fork oil for a dry fork installation?
Thanks all.
