Sooner or later everyone will have control cable issues, This is a cheap fix for a common problem, my control cables and instrument drive cables were working properly but the outer casings were cracked and when I would oil the cables the oil would seep out and be all over the machine. I bought some 3/4 inch heat shrink tubing for the large diameter cables and some 3/8 inch for the throttles. I used four foot lengths (comes in various lengths) and ran a second small overlapping piece on the clutch cable. The clutch, brake and throttle cables were very easy, just slide the tubing over the smallest cable end. With the speedo and tach it's a little harder, slide the glan nut part way down the cable and start the tubing onto the upper end of the cable, fold the tubing and work it thru the nut, by working the tubing down onto the cable and moving the glan nut up over the folded tubing it will go over the cable. I used a heat gun to shrink each cable as I worked on each one, the tubing will shrink slightly in length as it shrinks in diameter so it's best to leave it long, start with the heat gun at the end of the cable opposite of the direction you slid the tubing onto the cable, as you shrink the tubing down when you get to the upper end you can trim the tubing length then.
