Can anyone give me a good comparison for Regular/Rectifier options with a 66 and a 67 CB450 K0? 12 volt stock electrical system. And a new wiring harness will be put into each bike. One of the bikes has burned through 2 stators I believe. I’ve bought a used stator to try out, and thought an updated regulator/rectifier might help prevent this from happening again in the future.

Right now I have my eye on 3 items.

1. Ricks regular/rectifier (10—135H). Ricks webpage has this listed for CB450K for the years 1968-1974. However, 4into1 parts has this listed for 1965-1974. I’m assuming you can modify the unit for the 65-67’ K0 models but at not completely sure.

2. Common Motor Collective offers one for CB450K’s from 1965-1974.

3. And, Charlie’s Place offers a tiny one for all CB450 bikes.

Thanks.

Seriously though $120+ for a R/R? Are they made of gold? Sheesh

Thank you all. I purchased the Sparck Moto regulator/rectifier. And yes, I paid $120 for each of my last 2 Ricks Hot Shot regulator/rectifiers. I assumed Ricks was the “go-to” device.

Of course this is my side of the pond, but they’re made on site:

Regulator | Rectifier | Honda | CB250 | CJ 250 | CB450 | CB500 - Rex's Speed Shop

Not any more they're not, just bought one late May 2020 for my CB450 K5, made exclusively for REX's speed shop in Taiwan.
