Hello everyone, hoping for some guidance here. I am new to the motorcycle game and came across a nice one. I can drive a motorcycle, but don't have too much experience. Also don't have much experience working on bikes, but I've worked on a 75 Passport before. The battery was making contact with the seat and shorting out. Electric start worked great until the battery died. Being a rookie, I rode the bike about 5 miles on a kick start with a few stalls. On the way back home, I redlined without giving the bike any gas and it died. Started once more and happened again. Doesnt kick start now. I believe I flooded the engine. The right spark plug is great, but the left is wet and black, no soot. I will attach pictures and any guidance on fixing this would be awesome.

Hopefully it isn't being caused by cam bearing wear deflecting the seal, but the seal behind the advancer could be the cause of the leak. The points cover gasket isn't to hold oil, it's a dry cover. It could also be the cam bearing gasket itself, but you can't properly change that gasket without pulling the engine from the frame

He's showing the tach drive side of the engine, and the oil seals there on the output shaft are known to fail and then leak from "under the cover"..... Easy (although finicky) fix.....
