Working to spruce up an old '78 TII and am wondering about rear shocks. Between my three bikes, I have several pairs of shocks, but they are all OEM and look kinda crappy, not to mention probably function at 40-year-old capability. Can these be rebuilt? Or are there reasonable replacements?

Thanks for any help! I did some searching, but mostly found a bunch of outdated links. :(

Thanks, Ted! I don't think think these will fit, though - the Hawk shocks are clevised on both ends. :(

AstraGal came from woodworking (I am the marketing director for a woodworking school) - an astragal is a specific shape made by a moulding plane. It fit and I liked it, so I kept it. :) What is ASTRRA?

Susan :)

ASTRRA is a wireless automation system for changeover of bottling plants. You can go to astrra.com for some older videos of the system.
Think I like the moulding plane reference better.

Jim or Dan will be around shortly to give you good sources for the shocks.

That's pretty cool about ASTRRA - great product! We're heavily automated at my work, but we're a little different... (government chemical weapons destruction facility). :)

Don't know about Grumpy Smurf. Great handle, though!

Grumpy Smurf -- I like it! ;)

Thanks for the info, JL! I will look into Hagons. The Tec shocks look fine too, but I really would prefer a chrome top piece as was original to my year. But beggars can't be choosers! ;)
