this isent off for my cb but off a xl 185, today i pulled apart the rear shock and dampering part and inside the damper it was all cloged up with dirt, i cleaned it out, now i need to now what goes back in it, is it just normal fork oil?, if so how much?

I'm sure it is some type of hydraulic oil, but what type and how much i can't help with...You WILL need new seals however.....Did you check the shop manual?

i got told to just put fork oil in it, the seals are nackered so it didnt last long. but the other one springs back real nice all by its self and when i put the oil in this one it didnt spring back. whys that?

XL185 didn't have rebuildable shocks, they should be chrome plated steel body with swaged top.
Unless they are good (high end) aftermarket, there are no parts available to rebuild them

yer well i dunno if these are aftermarket, they could be because there red, but any i just popped that swaged top off and then it had the seal which was held on by a circlip.
