Hi Guys,

Really appreciate any help i can get identifying what this screw does on my brother's CM400 Custom VB22 carb.

He's got a small leak I'm troubleshooting as I'm learning and not sure what function, if any, these screws with fins have on the operation of the carb. I know they're not the mixture screws, but what are they? Are they just for bolting the bowl and finning some heat?

Any insight is appreciated.

Ah, but they ARE....Those would be the fuel/air mixture adjustment screws with limiter caps intact........

Oh. I thought they were back towards the air box, rather than upfront towards the engine. Thanks for the insight.

I will read-up on the proper method for setting the mixtures. Much appreciated.

Someone did you a favor and cut the limit tab off the float bowl so you can adjust more than 7/8 of a turn
I guess that's why they were so easy to dial-in, lol. Followed the manual instructions and had the CM idling at around 1200 and purring like an angry kitten :)

Thanks guys. Going to do an oil change and lube this weekend.
