Hello, that's some mighty clean workmanship, A+, what method was used on bottom crankcase, very nice. can you tell us what brand pistons, and what is the black coating?
Cam bearings, covers look great, good photos, gotta love it. Keep us updated. HondaJohn
Cleaning method? It was vapor blasted.

New pistons are Pulsar from Common Motor Collective.

The black coating is satin black powder coat.

Looks like a great project and workmanship! I believe that the Pulsar Pistons are a new item for Common Motor. Their video on YouTube suggests they are high quality. I've not been able to locate availability of those pistons at any other vendor. I would appreciate your view on the quality once you've had time to test drive the bike. Thanks.

Thank you.
Yes they are, Brenden hooked me up with them before they went live on their site. Have ordered a lot of parts from them, and am using their videos and advice extensively to do this work.

I would say I'm taking a middle of the road approach. No hand sanding. After they were vapor blasted, I started with a soft 240 grit wheel on the bench grinder. Then work my way through black, brown, green, white, blue compounds on some cheap buffing wheels.
