besides an air leak on my carb boots, one of which has already been permatex-ed, what else could be causing this? it's not awful, it's not super loud and only happens once i let off the throttle. and if i pull the clutch in things go dead silent, in a good way-popping stops. i'm pretty sure it's happening on both sides. again, short uni-foam filter upgrade and shorter reverse megaphone baffles. ??? everything else is running tip top(knock on wood).

Exhaust leaks at the joint between pipes and aftermarket mufflers are very common, and can cause popping......

What happens is that air gets sucked in, and provides an opportunity for any unspent fuel to ignite (sort of a second chance at life)......

wow! it's almost like you can see my bike bill. thanks. there is a connection issue going on there that i've been meaning to address. is there any hi-temp sort of form to pipe wrap product that could help seal things up?
