Hi,
Having measured the ring gaps in the cylinders i have found them all to be at the top of the wear limit for example, the compression rings are 20 thou the worst one being 25thou(upper limit is 20 thou) oil rings 13 and 15 (upper limit 16thou)
but they are all within the service limit which is 31thou for all the rings.
I managed to measure the bore at 2.757 (service limit is 2.760 +).
The question is do i put the old rings back in or put in a new set from dave silver @ roughly $120 for 2 sets ( ouch!)
The bike is on standard bores and has done 7000 miles..

I removed the engine due to low compression, which i found to be heavily carbon-ed exhaust valve seats.
Also do honda rings come ready gapped?

The rings do come "gapped', but it is a good idea to check them.......
