Can any of you guys enlighten me on part numbers, there are several parts I understand about nuts n bolts n finishes. I'm trying to track down 80100 447 710 rear fender for my cm250tb. It's a European bike.
So I found on eBay in USA (I'm here on holiday and could stick it in my suitcase) an 80100 447 000 from a cm 400t which looks very similar. If there is some on ellightenment out there I'd appreciate it

Slight confusion here, are you suggesting that part would fit my bike? I'm looking for the 7710 last four digits.
Appreciate your help, thankyou

Yes the fender will fit your bike
Honda part numbers are based on the first 5 digits telling what the part is (80100). Next 3 (447) tell what model the part was originally designed for. Last 3 (710) are the design change/supplier/alteration/etc. designators.
So 80100 is a rear fender, 447 is the 1979 CM400, and 710 would be the minor design changes made applicable to your model or a different supplier.
The part number J-T posted, 80100-447-000, was superseded by 80100-447-670.

But here's the rub. My suitcase was inspected on the return flight to Scotland. The shape of a 250 steel fender must have got them excited.

Possibly just the amount of metal they detected. Did they let you keep it?
