Part Needed

I need a handlebar cable holder - thingy - the sort of elliptical chrome piece that mounts to the front bolts of the top handlebar bolts.
It's chrome, holds the cables in place.
I don't care what shape it's in, I'll paint it if required.

I have one off a '71(I think) cb350. Flat, semi eliptical with a rolled edge on the inside I assume to protect the wires. I also have the piece that completes the other half of the circle and has a hole for the ignition switch. Both pieces are chrome but they have some rust spots showing through. If you want one or both let me know.

Is this for your 450? I bet I have one... I will have to go dig for it though... let me know and I'll see what I can scrounge up.

I'll go for that!! I'll pm you -

Yes it's for the 450 project (getting very close now), mufflers will arrive this week, getting ready to paint the tach/speedo tomorrow. all that's left is to put the carbs back together, finish the wiring, lengthen the chain to accomodate the 17-tooth sprocket, tune it up and get it goin'.

Russel - I think the 350 uses a different part. It's a different part #, I think the spacing between mount holes may be different.
Steve would probably know for sure.

got a picture of that key holder side?? i have only saw the under tank mounting.
Bill, Actually, YOU NEED one from a disc braked 350 (G model) or a 360 to fit the top tree (riser spacing) you have......(not sure if the CL /drum 350's had the same spacing).... You may want to compare part numbers on the various possible parts.... Steve

Personally, I'd just bend up a piece of 3/32 stainless rod stock (stainless welding rod)
Wow, thanks for the slap upside the head, Steve.
I completely spaced out the fact that I have a 360 tree/clamp on this thing (CRS Syndrome, I guess).
I just measured, and I need one with 80mm spacing between the mounting holes.
Not sure if that's the same as 450, but whoever has one with that spacing, I'd sure appreciate it.

And woody, I did locate both of those CB400T carb manifolds.
PM me with your mailind address, I'll get them to you.
Bill,

I found the part. It seems to be just as you described. Also it measures 80mm c-to-c on the bolt holes. I'll post a pic as soon as I get to my office in the morning. If it's right I'll get it mailed out tomorrow.

Bill,

Here is a pic. Seems to be just like you described... its in good shape albeit a little dirty... Should clean up nice. Let me know if you want it. Holes are 80mm on center.

thanks, woody.

I just read some posts at another forum from a guy who put 450 carbs on a 360.
Of course, it's a totally different machine than a 350........
Part sent... I sent it priority so you should have it Friday or Saturday.

One of the newer members here, (Krukster) has 450 carbs on his 360T. I think he bought it that way..?

That switch plate was a very common aftermarket part back in The Day.
