After reinstalling the clutch, oil pump, and oil filter in my ‘68 CB450, the oil pump isn’t pumping oil up to the head. The plunger is moving in and out of the oil pump and the oil filter is clean and fairly dry.

I did not disassemble the pump itself, only unbolted, removed, and replaced. Any ideas as to why this has happened?

Not sure what I could’ve done to cause my oil pump to fail, but it stopped working. I got a used aluminum body pump, rod, and piston as well as a service gasket kit from Common Motor and put it back together with new o rings and oil service is restored to the head.

It sounds pretty ticky, a valve adjustment is next. Thanks again Steve, I feel pretty solid about my oil system knowledge now.
