I just completely tore down the engine on my '72 cl350. It's in decent shape, and low mileage, but is badly oxidized and dirty. Decided to have the cases vapor blasted. New seals and gaskets. New rings and maybe a valve job. My only problem is with the oil baffle in the bottom case. I took the two screws out of it, but the others look like rivets. Does the baffle come out? Thanks.

You'll have to drill the rivets if you want to remove it. Then tap and screw it back with some thread locker. If you can get it cleaned without removing, that's the best way to go.

Thanks. I've seen that before. Never made sense to me, to mix screws and rivets. Or to rivet it at all. I'll leave it in place.
