Introducing myself, new rider from MI.

Just picked up a nice 1971 Honda CL175 to convert to a Cafe Racer.

Thanks

Our advice would be to get it running and ride it awhile....THEN decide what features or aesthetics don't suit you before cutting it up or modifying it....
There are LOTS of "cafe"-look bikes out there that the owner just found too uncomfortable to ride very long or very far......

Welcome! As someone who also really appreciates the cafe look, I will tell you first hand the ergonomics aren't great. My advice is don't make any mods you can't undo until the bike is solid and you are positive which direction you want to take it. I have a CB900 that looks like a tracker/brat/cafe/bobber/franken-Honda because I kept screwing with it while I was working on the basics.
