Hello, has anyone changed out the rear sprocket on a 1982 CM450-A? The bike just revs a little to fast when on the FWY here in So. Cal. As I recall, stock is 17/34. I'm thinking a 31 tooth rear might help. Would a bigger front gear fit without hitting anything? 1-2 more teeth up front might be better in the long run. I'd just like to know if anyone has done this and how it worked out. Thanks...

Stock is 17/34. You may want to check what is there before ordering anything. The PO may have used a stock gearing for a 400A which is 16/35. One tooth + in front is equal to 2 teeth less in the rear.I don't believe there is enough clearance in the case area to run an 18 front. It may just fit but you do need extra space for the chain wear.
