Hello from N Texas.

My '73 CB450 K6 in Tyrolean Green followed me home several, well maybe more like 7-8 yrs ago after finding it on Craigslist. Original listing I missed out on then a couple of months later it reappeared listed out of Ft Worth (original listing was out of Krum, TX) and now, supposedly ran. Well it kinda ran and did not stop even though the new seller claimed to have rebuilt the front caliper. Bike has 9,194 miles and is original all the way through. The tires maybe might even be original but I doubt tires from 1973 would last that many miles. Maybe right. Anyways, I rode it a few times in the neighborhood then stuck it off to the side in my garage as I have several other bikes. I began acquiring the tune up parts, tires and some other bits to get it road ready. I rebuilt the Carb's and had my buddy who's a Paintless Dent Repair Pro fix a dent on the left side of the Tank. I think it's time to properly get it road ready while the weather is cooler this Winter.

Update...front Master Cylinder has been rebuilt along with front Caliper. New DOT 3 fluid ran through till it came out clear and bubble free. New front tire & tube installed. Rear wheel is off in preparation for a clean and polish before new tube and tire are mounted. Front sprocket area cleaned and degreased. I scraped close to 1/2 cup of actual Grease from area just ahead and below of front sprocket. Chain lube residue was the usual hard and tacky but all that grease ??? Anyone able to shed some insight as to why this much actual grease would be in this area ? Next up after mounting the new rear tire is a date with my pressure washer and a spray bottle full of Simple Green Degreaser and Cleaner and some SOS Pads for the very light surface rust on the insides of both mufflers. Scotch Brite pads for the extra greasy areas and between the cylinder fins.

Old school chain maintenance, boil the chain clean, hang it to dry, submerge it in melted grease, drip dry.
