Hello,
My name is Spencer. I've been lurking around this forum since I picked up my first bike ('72 CB350) about a week ago. I am very happy with the condition I bought the bike in (especially for the price), it doesn't seem to have any major issues. I'm hoping you all can give me some pointers as to where to start to make sure it's in full running condition. When I picked it up it wouldn't start, but all it took to remedy that was some quick work on the points. After starting it up, I noticed there wasn't exhaust coming from the right side. I checked the compression and both sides matched at right around 160 psi. From there I took apart and cleaned the carbs (they actually weren't very dirty!). In doing this I think I may have found my problem, the diaphragm on the right carburetor was torn (new one should be arrive in the next few days). Other than that, I'm having some minor wiring issues which I'll likely address in another post. I also plan to change the oil before riding it. Is there anything else I should look into before taking it out? I'm very excited to get going! I think the CB350 will be a great introduction to working on and riding bikes!
